Q: What is the K-Tech Pass?

The K-Tech Pass is a qualification certificate issued for the establishment and operation of a support system providing visa, entry, and settlement assistance to outstanding foreign talent

Main benefits:

• Issuance of the Top-Tier Visa (F-2-T)
• Settlement support such as education, housing, and tax benefits
• Employment opportunities for spouses and education benefits for children

* The Top-Tier Visa(F-2-T) is a residence visa for top talent

탑티어 비자(F-2-T)는 최우수 인재를 위한 거주 비자입니다.

Entry Support Benefits

• Issuance of the F-2-T residence visa to the applicant and their family (spouse and children)
• Expansion of accompanying eligibility from spouse/children to include parents and domestic assistants
• Priority Fast Lane access through an entry/exit privilege card, allowing expedited immigration and security screening (applicant + up to three companions)
• Online visa application and processing without the need to visit a diplomatic mission

• 본인 및 그 가족에게 최우수인재 거주(F-2-T) 비자 발급
• 동반입국 허용범위를 배우자·자녀에서 부모·가사보조인까지 확대
• 출입국 우대카드를 제공해 출입국 우대심사대 및 공항 보안 검색 전용통로 이용을 통해 신속한 출입국 절차 적용
• 재외공간 방문 없이 온라인으로 비자 발급 신청 및 처리

Who is Eligible?

• Foreign nationals with an employment contract at a Korean high-tech company
• Master’s or doctorate in natural sciences or engineering from a top-100 global science/engineering university
• At least eight years of experience, including three years at a top-500 global company, or at least five years of research after a PhD, including three years at a leading global research institute

어떤 사람이 신청 가능한가요?

• 국내 첨단 산업 기업과 근로 계약 체결한 외국인
• 세계 100대 이과·공과대학, 자연과학·공학 석사 또는 박사 학위 취득
• 세계 500대 기업 3년 근무 포함 총 8년 또는 글로벌 우수 연구 기관 3년 이상 포함 박사학위 취득 후 5년 연구

Who is Eligible?

• Annual salary of at least three times Korea’s GNI (KRW 149.865 million in 2024)
• Korean proficiency: Certificate of completion of Level 1 of the Social Integration Program or TOPIK Level 1 or higher
• Verification and recommendation by the relevant central government ministry

• 연봉: 한국GNI의 3배 이상(2024년 기준 1억 4986.5만원)
• 한국어 능력: 사회통합프로그램 1단계 이수확인서 또는 TOPIK 1급 이상
• 관계 중앙 행정기관의 장 검증 및 추천

As of July 2025: semiconductor, display, battery, and bio industries under Article 2(1) of the Special Act on Talent Innovation in High-Tech Industries 

(robotics, defense, AI, and future mobility to be added in Q3 2025).

대상 분야

’25. 7월 기준 반도체, 디스플레이, 배터리, 바이오 산업 ｢첨단산업 인재혁신 특별법｣ 제2조 1호를 기준으로 함. 

(단, ’25년 3분기 중 로봇, 방산, AI, 미래모빌리티 추가지정 예정)

Residence Support Benefits (for K-Tech Pass Holders)

• 50% reduction in earned income tax for up to 10 years
• Jeonse loans and guarantees equivalent to those available to Korean nationals
• Admission of children to foreign schools beyond the regular quota
• Administrative concierge services for finance, telecommunications, and more

체류 지원 혜택(K-Tech Pass 발급 인재)

• 최대 10년간 근로소득세 50% 감면
• 내국인 수준의 전세대출 및 보증 한도
• 자녀의 외국인학교 정원 외 입학 허용
• 금융, 통신 등 행정 컨시어지 서비스 제공

How to Apply

① Company signs an employment contract

② Company submits the K-Tech Pass and visa applications

③ KOTRA reviews the documents and notifies the results

④ KOTRA verifies eligibility

⑤ KOTRA issues the K-Tech Pass and recommends the applicant to the Ministry of Justice

⑥ Ministry of Justice issues the visa

⑦ Talent enters Korea (within two weeks)
